Ed is a founding partner of the firm whose practice concentrates on patent infringement and technology-based, complex commercial litigation. Ed first litigated intellectual property matters at McKool Smith in Dallas and has since served as lead counsel on numerous patent enforcement matters for an array of clients across the country. He specializes in multi-faceted, portfolio-based litigation campaigns and welcomes the challenge of implementing deployment strategies adapted to each engagement’s inimitable circumstances.

Ed received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 1996 and served as a law clerk to the Honorable James Baker on the Texas Supreme Court. He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1993, magna cum laude. While at TCU, he was nominated to, and inducted into, The Phi Beta Kappa Society. Among numerous leadership positions in student governance, Ed was an elected representative of TCU’s Honors Cabinet and a faculty appointee to TCU’s Academic Appeals Committee. He published his honors thesis in the field of Economics and enjoyed creative writing acclaim with top awards in the Southwest Literature and Lorraine Shirley Portfolio Competitions.

He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Federal and Fifth Circuits, the Court of Federal Claims, all Texas Districts, the District of Colorado, and the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Tarrant County Bar Foundation, and serves multiple, other civic and legal organizations.
