Ryan’s practice focuses on patent infringement and technology-based, complex commercial litigation. He has extensive experience litigating patent and other technology-related matters, having appeared in more than 100 patent infringement cases in courts across the United States. Ryan also has significant experience in proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Texas state courts, and arbitration panels.

Prior to joining NBA, Ryan started his legal career as an associate at Fulbright & Jaworski LLP. His practice at Fulbright focused on patent prosecution and litigation. Ryan was also previously COO at Endpoint IP, a patent acquisition and monetization entity based in Dallas. At Endpoint, Ryan’s responsibilities included developing and managing new business opportunities, managing patent portfolios controlled by Endpoint, and managing the company’s litigation activities. Ryan’s experience at Endpoint gives him a unique insight into the issues patent owners face.

Ryan received his law degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. While in law school, he was a member of the SMU Law Review. He was also a member of SMU’s Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Team and served as a judicial extern for Judge D. Michael Lynn of the Northern District of Texas. Upon graduation Ryan was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

Ryan received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002. After graduating, Ryan worked as a control systems engineer for Petrofac, Ltd., an oilfield services provider. Ryan is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas, the Eastern District of Arkansas, and the Eastern District of Michigan.
