Carder is a registered patent attorney with technical expertise spanning from life sciences to computer science. He has represented clients in all stages of the intellectual property life cycle, including litigation, post-grant proceedings, licensing, and prosecution, focusing his practice on patent infringement matters and strategic intellectual property commercialization.

Carder previously practiced as a patent attorney for another Fort Worth law firm, concentrating on post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial & Appeal Board and patent and trademark prosecution before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Carder has presented multiple oral arguments to the Board, and further has drafted and prosecuted inventions in a wide range of technological fields, including chemical synthesis, small molecules, software engineering, algorithmic risk modeling, quantum dot applications, carbon nanotubes, graphene derivatives, drug delivery, aerospace engineering, railroad infrastructure, oil well devices, and construction devices. Carder also previously cofounded a biotechnology company that commercializes novel peptide synthesis methodologies to provide peptides for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. He served as the company’s General Counsel, building and managing the company’s growing IP portfolio and advising the company on all legal affairs, including contracts, operations, licensing, and governance. He also actively managed company affairs and conducted peptide synthesis research in the company’s state-of-the-art laboratory.

Carder received his law degree from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2017, graduating as a member of the Order of the Coif. Concurrently with his law degree, Carder pursued and received a Master of Science in Biotechnology, also in 2017, with a perfect GPA. Before law school and graduate school, Carder received his undergraduate degree in premedical studies, with highest honors, from Texas Tech University in 2014, completing the curriculum in three years. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Oregon State University. Carder is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Western, and Northern Districts of Texas.
